Career Development Update

I had my first meeting with Career Development last week on Friday. Amy Fonseca reviewed my resume and shared some things I might change on my resume such as capitalizing each section so that it stands out when employers review it. We also talked about working on a cover letter and we will have a meeting this week on Thursday to start on that. Lastly, we talked about grad school and I mentioned the grad schools I would like to go into. She sent me a link for this website where I can take a test and see in what area of the field I would thrive. 

Goals Completed:

-Resume review

-Meeting setup for cover letter 

-Applied to internship / Will have an interview this week on Friday

 (Siblings)  (Dog: Toby)  (Dog: Copper) Goals: At the beginning of the semester, I made a list of goals that I wanted to accomplish this spring.  Here are the ones I was able to accomplish: -Find Internship/Apply/Get Offer -Build Successful Network Team -Begin Grad School Process I am glad I was able to set my mind to these goals and complete them by the end of the semester. I will be going to my internship this summer from June-August in Houston as a photographer for a special needs camp.  I was able to build a more successful network by having regular meetings with my professors and receiving guidance for my future endeavors. Cool News!

 I was asked a week ago to photograph the new art exhibition at our school gallery. I was a bit nervous because I have never done anything like that before. Well, I went in there with my camera and other equipment and began shooting.  Turned out those images I took will be published in a magazine and will have my name on them. I was not even expecting this at all. This is huge to me because I have never had any of my work published. I was also asked if I wanted to keep shooting the gallery for the remainder of the time that I am a student. I said, YES! DUH! Anyway, I've put images below of the work from the gallery in the art building.
